We use etc. when we are making a list that is not complete, or when we think we have listed the important ones and what’s remaining is not that vital.

In the same vein, edc. will stand for ALL that has been pushed to the fringes of formal/mainstream education.

WHAT ARE WE EDUCATING OUR KIDS?

Education has become synonymous with forced studying from a set of text books
to appear for a series of academic tests
to be assessed to fall into certain grades
and be labelled as intelligent or stupid
based on a restrictive scope of somebody’s idea of certain type of intelligence?
year after year after year after year after year AFTER YEAR AFTER YEAR AFTER YEAR!!!

You know, I know… We all know. This is indisputably inadequate and infuriatingly inhumane.

HOW ARE WE EDUCATING OUR KIDS?

When music playlists, diet plans and freaking fashion accessories, gifts, and even your Google Ads can be personalised, why can not learning be personalised too? – to meet every child’s interests, needs, learning styles, potential and goals.

Can not children be co-creators of their curriculum and choose the learning methods that work for them?

Can not children be allowed some leeway to pursue an education that is meaningful to them?

The current system of education needs to be transformed, not reformed. Any and all changes in mass education with no attempt to personalising it is a meaningless farce – a mockery of education that benefits
neither the child nor society.

Edu cetera will bring to the forefront all that is essential to holistic education that have been carelessly sidelined.

Hope and wish this revolution brings a change in our education system. Instead of just reading and repeating the same, let our future generation use their brain in the years to come.

Thank you! I only wish more parents would realize the folly of burdening their children with someone’s idea of a “proper education” and liberate them, rather than waiting for a systemic change – whenever that comes.

Really appreciate. I agree. We should change this education system! Kids need to learn in their own way. If we just rewind our schooling & college where we spent almost 12-16 years, I would say we gained very minimal. We almost wasted one-third of our beautiful life!!! Nowadays kids are running like anything! Education has become a business! Really hectic! Too much of pressure to that little one! OMG we really need to change! Great initiative ma’am.

    Super.
    Great initiative.
Millions of parents need content on what they don’t teach in schools.
With all your experience we are expecting an awesome output.
    Looking forward for updates.

    Hi Arul

Edu Cetera – Wishing kids learning to be less stressful and more learner oriented . Knowledge, intellectual capacity and technological prowess alone have never been sufficient to meet life’s challenges. To live, one must remember, is to be related. And to be a complete human being we must continually learn and grow in mindful relatedness – to people, things, ideas, nature and, above all, to one’s inner self.

I only have one question, Arulmozhi. How do I get involved?

This is the most wonderful initiative I have stumbled across in some time and I really want to know in what way i can contribute to your paradigm breaking effort. If there is any way i can volunteer to contribute please do let me know.

Take a bow, madame. You are an ideal mom, a perfect embodiment of motherhood. Super proud of you.
